Product Bundle Margin Guide
Bundles can improve profitability by increasing average order value while sharing shipping and acquisition costs across multiple items. A bundle should be planned around contribution margin, not just a higher cart total.
How bundles help
If shipping cost and ad cost stay similar, adding a second complementary item can increase contribution profit. This gives sellers more room to run ads or offer discounts without destroying margin.
Bundle risks
Do not bundle slow-moving products just to clear inventory. The bundle must make sense for the buyer and should not increase return risk. Keep the offer simple enough that shoppers understand the value quickly.
Testing workflow
Compare single-item margin, two-pack margin and accessory bundle margin. Track conversion rate, AOV and refund rate separately.
