Product Title Guide for Sellers
Strong product titles balance search keywords with buyer clarity. The goal is not to use every possible keyword. The goal is to help the right shopper understand the product quickly and click with the right expectation.
Title structure
Put the product type and primary keyword early. Add the most important feature, use case, size or compatibility detail. Avoid repeated words, unsupported claims and awkward keyword stuffing.
Platform differences
Amazon titles often need stricter category compliance. TikTok Shop titles should be clear and easy to scan. Shopify titles can be more brand-led but still need product clarity for search and ads.
Common mistakes
Do not hide the product type. Do not exaggerate benefits. Do not use a title that attracts clicks but creates returns because the product is misunderstood.
